Die Dark Drum&Bass Convention ist eine Event-Reihe und Plattform für die dunklere Seite des Drum&Bass und verwandter Genres. Diesmal freuen wir uns auf hochkarätigen Besuch aus Bristol – Der Name RUFFHOUSE ist Programm. Die Crew, bestehend aus Pessimist, Vega und Cooper releasen ihre Tunes seit 2012 auf vielen der wichtigsten Drum&Bass-Lablels; UVB-76, Cylon, Samurai, Exit Records und Critical Music inklusive. Mit ihrem düsteren und irgendwie einzigartigen Sound, der die analogen Sounds der „Golden Era“ mit neuen Einflüssen und modernen Produktionstechniken verbindet, hat sich die Crew seitdem einen internationalen Namen gemacht und erhält Support von Größen wie z.B. Loxy, dBridge, Skeptical und Doc Scott. Wer die Jungs bereits 2013 im Conne Island bei ease up^ erlebt hat, weiß bescheid. Von Bass-lastigen, schweren Halftime-Beats oder atmosphärisch-düsteren Amen-Breaks über Classic Rollers und zurück – es wird deep und dark!
Und: Yes, zum ersten Mal kommt BRK nach Leipzig! Der DJ, Produzent und Radio Host aus Marseille ist seit über zehn Jahren ein wichtiger Teil der Drum&Bass-Szene in Südfrankreich. Wer z.B. seine Mixes auf Rinse France gehört hat, wird sich auf einen doch seeehr energiegeladenen Mix bei der Convention freuen. Nur zwei Wochen vorher steht der Junge zusammen mit Ivy Lab, Insideinfo und J:Kenzo beim Outlook Festival-Launch hinter den Tellern. Als DJ ist BRK extrem vielseitig – neben Dark Drum&Bass werden Einflüsse aus UK Bass, Grime, Breakbeat und Deep Dubstep zu hören sein. Watch out!
Nach seinem überragenden Set als Headliner der ersten Dark Drum&Bass Convention im August 2015, ist SOUNDIA auch schon in Leipzig ein wenig bekannt geworden. Erst kürzlich stand er auf der legendären Renegade Hardware Weekender Party in London am Pult. Der Chef und Gründer des Londoner Labels Blackhill Production, DJ und Produzent, aus Frankreich stammend, freut sich schon massiv auf sein nächstes Set und auf seinen Besuch in Leipzig. Der Name Blackhill hat sich ja auch hierzulande, spätestens seit der Kollaboration von Plastiks und [kju:bi], einen kleinen Namen gemacht. Seid bereit für eine ordentliche Portion Dark Jungle, Deep DNB, Dubplates und Remixes, die man sonst doch recht selten zu hören bekommt. Mal sehen, was sich die Blackhill-Crew diesmal ausgedacht hat!
Außerdem sind wir wahnsinnig darauf gespannt, was Kali Avaaz mitbringen wird! Spätestens seit ihrem Set bei der Ventral Vibrations im IFZ sind wir davon überzeugt, dass es so richtig düster zugehen kann, gleichzeitig aber auch sehr innovativ und stimmungsgeladen. Kali Avaaz bewegt sich irgendwo zwischen den Stilen – deep und dark könnte an diesem Abend der gemeinsame Nenner im Set der DJane werden.
Außerdem: local Support aus Leipzig durch audite, (the legendary) L.U.I., die beiden Dark Drum&Bass Convention residents von [kju:bi] und zum ersten mal auch durch Sneakless, auf dessen Set wir mindestens genau so gespannt sind.

The Dark Drum&Bass Convention is promoting the dark and underground side of Drum&Bass and similar genres, and this time we’re absolutely proud to welcome RUFFHOUSE from Bristol! The crew, consisting of Pessimist, Vega and Cooper, has been releasing tunes on some of the most important DNB-Labels such as UVB-76, Cylon, Samurai, Exit Records and Critical Music since 2012. What’s absolutely distinct about their music is an authentic approach of combining analog and oldschool production with modern and digital techniques. They have gained support from some of the biggest names in Drum&Bass, such as Loxy, dBridge, Skeptical or Doc Scott. Be prepared for some deep and dark rollers, bass-heavy halftime DNB and experimental explorations of the dark and the atmospheric side of the genre.
Marseille promoter, radio host and Dj / Producer, BRK has been immersed in Bass Music since an early age. Touring for ten years in underground clubs and bass parties in the South of France and abroad. He’s also the founder of Marseille’s collective „Future Skankerz“ in 2012, responsible for quite a few memorable bass music parties. Into Drum&Bass since childhood, he might as well turn you on with some Uk Bass, Grime, Breakbeat or Deep Dubstep. Always updated with the latest releases and dubplates, his dynamic sets will please connoisseurs and partygoers alike.
After his smashing Set at the first Dark Drum&Bass Convention in august 2015, SOUNDIA will probably need no introduction, as he is the founder of London based DNB-Label Blackhill Production, which has gained attention in Leipzig quite a bit during the last year. Just a few weeks ago, this man was playing at the legendary Renegade Hardware Weekender in London, so he should definitely be ready now for pushing the limits, get prepared for some dark jungle, deep Drum&Bass, Dubplates and exclusive remixes, that might not have heard before.
