it’s about time for a soulful journey through drum and bass’ finest ends and corners of the whole beautiful spectrum! We are massively excited that we managed to get a very busy man with releases and labels coming at him left right and center and Munich’s very own mean vibe machine back for this one night, and it’s none other than the mighty Rowpieces who will also celebrate a new release on V Recordings as well as founding his own new label Rowtown Records at the same time! We’ve also added to the team a well-known DJ and MC combo going back all the way to the the early days of Munich’s dnb and jungle scene. We are honored to welcome back to town vocalist Soultrain for this special event who is our second headliner alongside DJ colleague and partner in crime from Beatknowlogists Dan_e! Deep Contact is proudly presenting this night full of local and homecoming heroes! We hope to see you all there, spread the vibes!

►ROWPIECES
[ Rowtown · Soul Bros. · V Recordings · Jazzsticks · Vibration ] He goes by the name of “Row” and “pieces“ means the variety of music he is listening to, playing in dj sets and producing. Describing his music is simple, no matter which style or genre – it is all driven by Soul, Funk and Jazz, and always sophisticated. Rowpieces first encountered Hip Hop as a teenager and soon discovered Drum’n’Bass, House, Downtempo and Electronic music throughout the nineties. All those genres led him to the roots of Soul, Funk and Jazz, where he became a frenetic vinyl collector of many genres. He is now proudly adding some of his very own tunes to his extraordinary vinyl collection. Starting his career with soulful Drum’n’Bass and having produced many releases on legendary labels including V Records, Good Looking, Phuzion, Fokuz, Vibration Records and Jazzsticks Recordings. Rowpieces also runs the highly respected and well-known label Soul Bros. Records and his brand-new imprint Rowtown Records.

►SOULTRAIN
[ Sun&Bass · Railroad Entertainment ] Formerly Munich’s own, now in Berlin. Soultrain is an exceptional vocal talent in his mid-thirties. Thanks to his Jamaican heritage he has been involved with Reggae music since his early childhood. He was also deeply influenced by Hiphop and the Breakbeat/Jungle scene. In 1993 Soultrain was amongst the very first artists shaping the scene in Germany. His explosive performances at numerus events and festivals like Future, Meditation, HipHop Open, Summerjam, Splash, Love Parade, Urban Art Forms and many more brought him to the attention of Navigator (Freestylers). In 2002, Navigator recruited Soultrain as a member of the now legendary Rawhill Cru, which also included ragga MC greats like Tenor Fly, Daddy Freddy and the Ragga Twins. Together with Navi and MC $pyda he recorded the DnB/Jungle smash-hit Mo‘ Fire and also featured in the video. Mo‘ Fire became an anthem and stormed straight to No.1 in the UK Dance Charts selling over 60.000 copies. In 2000, 2002, 2007, 2008 and 2009 Soultrain was awarded ‚Best National MC‘ by the Future Music. In 2008 he started to work with Berlin based record label IM Music and produced the Reggae hit, Heart of a Champion. The video for this tune is also a testament to his live performance. With his unique and unmistakable voice and style he manages to integrate new and experimental trends, while still remaining loyal to his reggae roots and long-time fans.

►DAN_E
[ Beatknowlogists · Soul Bros. · Jazzsticks ] As part of the Beatknowlogists Crew, a group of liquid drum and bass producers, DJs, MCs and event organisers Dan_e was at the forefront of building out a solid jungle/dnb scene in Munich in the early years between 1998 and 2011, including legendary events at Muffatcafe (alongside Soultrain). Bookings ranged from Loxy, Ink, Control, Beta2, Zero T, Lee to NME Click, Trifelife, Edecay, Madvibes and many more. Beatknowlogists artists are frequently tearing the roofs off local clubs as well as international dance floors. With well-known labels like Sou Bros., Soundtrax, Soul Deep or Offworld they are even adding their own releases to the whole repertoire.
